CHANGE IS IN THE AIR – A look at the Astrology for 2023!
Dec 31, 2022
This is a year of change, with three crucial planets changing signs. Though there is much movement in the heavens, and we will feel it, 2023 has a lot going for it this year! Especially if you have a significant planet(s) in Aries and Taurus or the Fire/Earth signs. As Jupiter flies through Aries, swiftly moving during the first half of the year, and enters Taurus on May 16th, 2023, until the end of 2023. This may bring good luck, good fortune, or expansion to those areas of your chart.
The beginning of the year will not feel that different from now, but by March, all that will change. This year, March will be quite a month with both Pluto and Saturn changing signs! It may feel like time is speeding up even faster.
The most profound shift is Pluto moving into Aquarius after being in Capricorn for fifteen years on March 23rd, 2023. It will square the lunar nodes as it does so – which speaks to destiny changing directions – a pivot point. This may shift the power dynamic from the old establishment to a broader egalitarian base over the next twenty-one years.
Themes around social media transformation and internet disruptions are possible. The electrical grid may be transmuted where it will be more plentiful and more available to all and at much less cost. The Internet may also be reshaped, offering new formats and uses in unique and original ways. More information and creative genius will be mined from the collective instead of a few people taking all the credit and financial rewards.
Alternative Healing will become even more common and part of the course. Astrology will rise in popularity and be seen as one of the preeminent branches of knowledge it is – now that the square between Saturn and Uranus is ebbing.
Pluto entering Aquarius is a significant contribution to the two-hundred-year ‘Air Era’ that we are gathering momentum in – if you remember 2020’s conjunction between Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius at 00 degrees on December 21st, 2020, which began their dance in Air signs over the next roughly one hundred and fifty years.
Pluto will stay only two and a half months in Aquarius before retrograding back into Capricorn. In 2024, it will return to Aquarius until 2044. So we will get a taste of it this year. Watch out for what happens between March 23rd and June 11th, 2023 – it may give us clues as to the net twenty-one years.
Aquarius is an air sign. The Air element spreads energy around, dispersing focus. Pluto is about power. We may see more power returning to the people with fairness and equality. Air goes up – we have already seen Space travel and Galactic awareness growing, and this trend will continue at warp speed.
Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, so we may feel more freedom. There may be a rebelliousness in the air – with many demonstrations demanding fairer wages, overhauling governments and the top-down structure, and more work/life balance.
On March 7th, Saturn moves into Pisces. This ingress may lessen physical boundaries and border restrictions over the next three years. Saturn will move back into Aquarius when it retrogrades. Being co-present with Neptune in Pisces, there is a feeling of giving form to the formless.
There may be much more flooding this year – especially around March, with Mars squaring Neptune, and again in November when a yod forms with Neptune at the pinnacle and Black Moon Lilith sextile the South Node inconjunct Neptune.
Venus will retrograde in Leo this year during the summer, from July 22 through September 3, 2023. This means this summer may be a time for going over matters concerning love, relationships, art, and design. Not a time to forge ahead with anything new in those areas. With Venus retrograde and the South node moving into Libra, which rules the 7th house, relationship/partnership stuff will surely be coming up for reflection and possibly healing.
The Nodes change sign this year, with the North node moving into Aries and the South node holding court in Libra from July 18, 2023 – January 11, 2025. The nodes trigger eclipses, which move our consciousness forward. So take a look and see which house pair will have the eclipses moving through them in your chart. Once you have the houses, those eclipses will be in – you can understand how you will be affected by correlating the brief house meaning below:
